Our team works closely with you to assess your needs, whether you require a full denture, partial denture, or an update to an existing set. We consider factors such as jaw structure, bite alignment, and daily comfort to ensure a well-fitting result that supports chewing and speech.
Our denture process includes clinical consultation, impressions, fittings and adjustments, all delivered with care and clear communication. We also support patients adjusting to their first set of dentures with guidance on care, maintenance and long-term use.

What To Expect With Dentures
The first step in receiving dentures is a detailed consultation, where we examine your oral health, remaining teeth (if applicable), and discuss your goals for treatment. We’ll then take impressions of your mouth to guide the fabrication of your custom denture, ensuring the fit is both functional and comfortable.
After the denture is made, we’ll perform fitting appointments to make any necessary adjustments, with follow-up reviews to ensure ongoing comfort and performance. For patients transitioning from natural teeth to full dentures, we also offer temporary solutions where appropriate, helping to maintain speech and aesthetics throughout the process. Over time, we can also reline or repair dentures as your jaw changes or if damage occurs.

What’s the difference between full and partial dentures?
Full dentures replace all teeth in either the upper or lower jaw, while partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain. Partial dentures are supported by the surrounding teeth and gums and may include clasps for additional stability. Full dentures rest on the gums and are custom-moulded to your mouth’s contours. Your dentist will recommend the appropriate type based on your oral health, number of remaining teeth, and functional goals.
How long does it take to get used to dentures?
Most people need a few weeks to adjust to wearing new dentures. During this time, it’s normal to experience mild discomfort, increased saliva flow or changes in speech. Regular wear, combined with small adjustments by your dentist, usually helps ease these symptoms. Eating soft foods and practising speaking aloud can support the adaptation process.
Can dentures affect how I eat and speak?
Yes, dentures can change the way you chew and speak initially, but most people adapt with time and practice. You may need to modify how you bite or cut food into smaller pieces while adjusting. Certain sounds might feel different at first, but this usually improves as your muscles adapt to the new appliance. If problems persist, your dentist can evaluate the fit and make adjustments to improve function.
